I advise you watch one straight away! Star Wars is the basis of ALL sci-fi! The only reason we get action figures that aren't 12 inches is because Star Wars changed it all. Star Wars is just.... wow... It's just cultural history.... I advise you watch 'A New Hope,' then Empire, then Jedi and... meh to the prequels, they're good but matter not... Just...wow... sounds silly but I am super shocked that someone has never seen a SW film.

Re: Top 5 Favourite Films of All Time
Not an easy choice, but:
1) The Seven Samurai (Shichinin no samurai)
2) The Maltese Falcon
3) King Kong (original)
4) Metropolis (original)
5) The Magnificent Seven
Notice how 4 out of the 5 are black and white?

Star Wars:
Empire Strikes Back
Return of the Jedi
A New Hope
Bedknobs and Broomsticks
Toy Story
Childish, but children's films are sometimes the best. I love most of the Disney films (the most known). I haven't come across a more mature film yet (apart from SW) that I have really loved.

In a lot of ways, I am lucky. While I was growing up, during the summer holidays BBC2 used to show a lot of black and white films in a morning, including quite a few silent movies. They also showed Charlie Chaplin, Laurel and hardy, Buster Keaton, Harold Lloyd, et al; along with the old Saturday morning serials like Flash Gordon, Buck Rogers, Zorro and King of the Rocket Men that inspired Lucas and Spielberg to make Star Wars and Indiana Jones. It gave me a lifelong love of the silver screen. I am a rabid fan of black and white movies. They tend be be far better scripted, directed and acted. They did not need flashy special effects to tell (or distract from poor) stories.
Give me Gloria Swanson, Bette Davis or Marlene Dietrich over any of these modern so-called actresses any day.

Oh my God, I love Bedknobs & Broomsticks! Used to watch it for hours on end when I was really little! Still have it on VHS, same for Toy Story too!

I'm afraid that as much as I love the Harry Potter books, none of the films even make my top 50.

Family Guy Trilogy is not one movie. It is 3 SEPARATE double-length episodes of Family Guy! Pick another, sis!

I don't really like that Family Guy film. My gran got me it one Christmas and I haven't watched it once!
It still has the cellophane packaging on it.
